Your Committee on Economic Development and Technology, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 24, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:

stadium authority

ROBIN K. CAMPANIANO, for a term to expire June 30, 2005;

begs leave to report as follows:

Your Committee received testimony in support of the nomination from the Stadium Authority, Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, and Hawaii Business Roundtable.

Robin K. Campaniano holds degrees in business administration and law, and is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of AIG Hawaii Insurance Company. His prior professional positions include Chief Executive Officer of Fiftieth State Risk Management, Inc., State Insurance Commissioner, District Director of the Honolulu District Office of the United States Small Business Administration, and State Deputy Attorney General.

Mr. Campaniano has an extensive and distinguished history of community service that includes Chair of the Hawaii Business Roundtable, Regent of the University of Hawaii and Chaminade University, and directorships for the Filipino Chamber of Commerce, Susannah Wesley Community Center, and Hawaii Labor Heritage Foundation. He has served as an interim member of the Stadium Authority for three and a half months.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development and Technology that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, character, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
