elevator mechanics licensing board
PAUL WILLIAM CONDRY, for a term to expire June 30, 2002;

Your Committee received testimony in support of the nomination from the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs and the Hawaii Building and Construction Trades Council, AFL-CIO.
Paul William Condry holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Hawaii. Mr. Condry was employed by the State Department of Labor for thirteen years, and since 1983, has been a labor investigator with the United States Department of Labor. The nominee has served as an interim public member of the Elevator Mechanics Licensing Board since July, 2001.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Commerce, Consumer Protection and Housing that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, character, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
