A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
Accordingly, the purpose of this Act is to enable the adult client services branch to move toward the recommended national best practice standards for community supervision by establishing positions and appropriating funds for adult client services branch of the first circuit.
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2025-2026 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2026-2027 to establish permanent positions in adult client services branch of the first circuit court, including:
(1) $ each for full-time equivalent ( FTE) probation officer positions;
(2) $ for full-time equivalent ( FTE) social worker assistant position; and
(3) $ each for full-time equivalent ( FTE) clerk positions.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the judiciary for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2025-2026 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2026-2027 for operating expenses for adult client services branch of the first circuit court.
The sums appropriated shall be expended by the judiciary for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 3000.
