A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO TRAFFIC CITATIONS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 291C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§291C-     Traffic cameras; penalties.  (a)  Any person who knowingly destroys or damages a traffic camera shall be guilty of a class C felony.

     (b)  For the purposes of this section, "traffic camera" means any camera owned and operated by a state or county agency."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 3000.
