RELATING TO AGRICULTURE.

Appropriates funds to the Agribusiness Development Corporation to acquire a conservation easement in Central Oahu.

RELATING TO MEAT PROCESSING.

Requires the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to develop and implement a grant program to expand the meat processing capacity in the State.  Appropriates funds.

RELATING TO GEOTHERMAL RESOURCES.

Appropriates funds to the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism for continued exploration and identification of geothermal resources and commercial viability for utility-scale geothermal production in counties with a population of less than 300,000.

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE STADIUM AUTHORITY.

Clarifies requirements to establish a quorum to do business and validate acts of the Stadium Authority.

RELATING TO HOTELS.

Requires hotelkeepers to provide adequate notice of service disruptions to guests and third-party vendors under certain conditions.  Allows for recovery of damages.

RELATING TO THE FILM INDUSTRY.

Requires qualified production costs of a taxpayer that exceed $1,000,000 to be certified by an independent third-party certified public accountant to qualify for the tax credit.  Increases the total amount of tax credits allowed in any given year from $50,000,000 to $60,000,000.  Includes broadcast and streaming platform productions under the tax credit.  Defines "streaming platform".  Extends the sunset date for the tax credit to 1/1/2039.  Makes conforming amendments.

SB 1569

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO SPORTS WAGERING.

Allows for the regulation of sports wagering by the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism.  Establishes licensing requirements for sports wagering operators and sports wagering suppliers.  Specifies that sports wagering shall not be considered games of chance or gambling.
