Your Committee on Economic Development & Technology, to which was referred S.C.R. No. 196, S.D. 1, entitled:

"SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION SUPPORTING AND ENCOURAGING A BROADER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE STATE AND THE KINGDOM OF NORWAY,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to support and encourage a broader relationship between the State and the Kingdom of Norway.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from one individual.

Your Committee finds that Hawaii and Norway share environmental priorities and are at the forefront of renewable energy development. Your Committee further finds that the State could benefit from Norway's expertise in areas such as sustainable urban planning, green energy infrastructure, and criminal justice. This measure seeks to enhance the State's relationship with Norway.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Economic Development & Technology that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of S.C.R. No. 196, S.D. 1, and recommends its adoption.
