     Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No. 989, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to:

 

     (1)  Appropriate funds to assist small businesses with technology enablement and the development of project management software to simplify the facilitated application process for small businesses; and

 

     (2)  Require the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation to submit a report to the Legislature on the status of assisting technology enablement for small businesses related to the tourism sector.

 

     Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Hawaiʻi Technology Development Corporation; Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau; Chamber of Commerce Hawaii; Hawaii Food Industry Association; Maui Chamber of Commerce; Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce; and one individual.

 

     As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 989, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
