Your Committee on Ways and Means, to which was referred S.B. No. 938, S.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO TAXATION,"

The purpose and intent of this measure is to require the Department of Taxation to submit annual reports to the Legislature regarding the staffing and operations of the Department's Information Technology Services Office.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from one individual.

Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Taxation.

Your Committee believes that the annual reports required by this measure will help ensure organizational stability and prevent overstaffing within the Information Technology Services Office.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Ways and Means that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 938, S.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Second Reading and be placed on the calendar for Third Reading.
