Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No. 693, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE FOOD HUB PILOT PROGRAM,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds for the continued implementation of the Food Hub Pilot Program, including the awarding of grants to qualifying food hubs.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Agriculture; Department of Research and Development, County of Hawaiʻi; Mālama Kauaʻi; Hawaiʻi Pacific Health; Hawaii Primary Care Association; Ohana Unity Party; Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau; Hawaiʻi Reef and Ocean Coalition; Climate Protectors Hawaiʻi; Hawaiʻi Alliance for Progressive Action; Hawaiʻi Farmers Union; and numerous individuals.

Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Hawaiʻi Food Hub Hui; Hawaiʻi ʻUlu Cooperative; and one individual.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 693, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
