Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No. 1252, S.D. 2, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO DEMENTIA,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds to the University of Hawaii to establish positions for the University of Hawaii at Manoa John A. Burns School of Medicine's Department of Geriatric Medicine to provide coordination between the University of Hawaii's programs that provide training on Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Executive Office on Aging and Hawaiʻi Primary Care Association. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa John A. Burns School of Medicine and Alzheimer's Association-Hawaii.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 1252, S.D. 2, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
