Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred S.B. No. 1202 entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO CAMPAIGN FINANCE,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to allow campaign funds to be used for a candidate's child care costs or vital household dependent care costs under certain conditions.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Campaign Spending Commission; Honolulu County Committee on the Status of Women; Hawai‘i Family Caregiver Coalition; Hawai‘i State Democratic Party Women's Caucus; AAUW of Hawai‘i; and two individuals. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Ohana Unity Party.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 1202 and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
