Your Committee on Public Safety, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 63 entitled:

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS AND REHABILITATION TO MAKE AVAILABLE TO CORRECTIONAL FACILITY STAFF MEMBERS THROUGHOUT THE STATE CLINICAL COUNSELING SERVICES THAT ARE SEPARATE AND DISTINCT FROM THE EXISTING MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO INMATES"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to request the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to make available to correctional facility staff members throughout the state clinical counseling services that are separate and distinct from the existing mental health resources available to inmates.

Only one individual provided written testimony in support of this resolution.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Public Safety that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 63 and recommends that it be referred to your Committee on Finance.
