Your Committee on Public Safety, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 205 entitled:

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION URGING THE COUNTY OF MAUI AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO PRIORITIZE AND EXPEDITE THE PLANNING, FUNDING, AND CONSTRUCTION OF A PERMANENT REPLACEMENT FOR THE KULANIHAKOI BRIDGE,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to catalyze follow-through on a desperately needed replacement of the Kulanihakoi Bridge, which was first constructed in 1911. The replacement process has been held up since 2018 when initial work on it was started.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from one individual.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Public Safety that is attached to this report, your Committee concurs with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 205 and recommends its adoption.
