Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred H.B. No. 448, H.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO TECHNOLOGY ENABLEMENT,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds to the Hawaii Technology Development Corporation to assist small businesses, including those related to the tourism sector, with technology enablement and require the Corporation to report to the Legislature regarding the use of those funds.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority; Hawaiʻi Technology Development Corporation; Chamber of Commerce Hawaii; Mana Up; Aloha Shoyu Company, Ltd.; Hawaii Food Industry Association; Maui Chamber of Commerce; and Hawaiʻi Island Chamber of Commerce.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 448, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
