Your Committee on Ways and Means, to which was referred H.B. No. 1169, H.D. 1, S.D. 1, entitled:

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII CONFERENCE CENTER REVOLVING FUND,"

begs leave to report as follows:

The purpose and intent of this measure is to establish the university of Hawaii conference center revolving fund and repeal two existing conference center funds.

Your Committee received written comments in support of this measure from the University of Hawaii System.

Your Committee finds that establishing a single revolving fund for all conference center activities will help to standardize conference center programs across all campuses of the University of Hawaii System and facilitate the administration of conference center moneys.

Your Committee has amended this measure by

(1) Clarifying the permissible uses of moneys appropriated from the university of Hawaii conference center revolving fund; and

(2) Making technical nonsubstantive amendments for purposes of clarity, consistency, and style.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Ways and Means that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1169, H.D. 1, S.D. 1, as amended herein, and recommends that it pass Third Reading in the form attached hereto as H.B. No. 1169, H.D. 1, S.D. 2.
