RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 618
Honorable Ronald D. Kouchi
President of the Senate
Thirty-Third State Legislature
Regular Session of 2025
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 618, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
State Board of
Public Accountancy
G.M. No. 618 |
JON ARBLES, for a term to expire 06-30-2028, |
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by Jon Arbles for service on the State Board of Public Accountancy.
Your Committee received testimony in support of the nomination for the reappointment of Jon Arbles from the Board of Public Accountancy and five individuals.
Upon review of the testimony, your Committee finds that Mr. Arbles's experience, knowledge, and proven leadership on the State Board of Public Accountancy qualify him for reappointment to the Board as a licensee member. Your Committee notes that Mr. Arbles has over ten years of experience in accounting and has been licensed as a certified public accountant in Hawaii since 2017. Mr. Arbles currently serves as an Audit partner for Taketa, Iwata, Hara & Associates LLC. Mr. Arbles has also gained extensive accounting and auditing experience at the partner level in various industries, including nonprofit organizations, construction contractors, homeowner associations, car dealerships, property and land management, and funeral plan trusts. Mr. Arbles is also actively involved in a number of professional organizations and is currently a member of the Hawaii Association of Public Accountants, Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Hawaii Community College Advisory Council (Accounting Program). Mr. Arbles has served on the State Board of Public Accountancy since 2021 and currently serves as the Board's Vice Chairperson. Mr. Arbles's experience and knowledge will continue to be assets to the Board. Your Committee therefore recommends that Jon Arbles be reappointed to the State Board of Public Accountancy based on his experience, knowledge, and commitment to public service.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection that are attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection,
|
