Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by Adriane Truluck and Trisha Watson for service on the Hawaii Historic Places Review Board.
ADRIANE TRULUCK
Upon review of the testimony, your Committee finds that Ms. Truluck's experience and knowledge qualify her for appointment to the Hawaii Historic Places Review Board. Upon review of the testimony, your Committee finds that Ms. Watson's experience and knowledge qualify her for appointment to the Hawaii Historic Places Review Board. Your Committee finds that Ms. Watson is the current owner and president of Honua Consulting where her responsibilities include the management of federal, state, and county contracts; advising clients regarding the development of programs; non-profit status and grant writing; providing facilitation, outreach, and consultation on community input, research services, educational services, and environmental and cultural assessments; oversight of resource management on large-scale initiatives; and advising clients on community engagement on complex and sensitive projects. Your Committee notes that Ms. Watson is an accomplished academic and scholar with numerous publications. In addition to her written works, Ms. Watson has sat on PhD committees and given guest lectures and interviews. Your Committee further finds that Ms. Watson thoroughly understands the roles and responsibilities of Board members and her expertise on traditional cultural properties will be an asset to the Board. Your Committee therefore recommends that Trisha Watson be appointed to the Hawaii Historic Places Review Board based on her experience, knowledge, and commitment to public service.
As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committee on Water and Land that are attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominees, has found the nominees to be qualified for the positions to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nominations.
