COM. REP. NO. 1977
Honolulu, Hawaii
RE: GOV. MSG. NO. 517
Honorable Ronald D. Kouchi
President of the Senate
Thirty-Third State Legislature
Regular Session of 2025
State of Hawaii
Sir:
Your Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection, to which was referred Governor's Message No. 517, submitting for study and consideration the nomination of:
Hawai'i Board of
Chiropractic
G.M. No. 517 |
TERESA HERNANDEZ, for a term to expire 06-30-2028, |
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee reviewed the personal history, resume, and statement submitted by Teresa Hernandez for service on the Hawaii Board of Chiropractic.
Your Committee received testimony in support of the nomination for the appointment of Teresa Hernandez from the Hawaii Board of Chiropractic, Hawaii State Chiropractic Association, and one individual.
Upon review of the testimony, your Committee finds that Ms. Hernandez's experience and dedication in the field of chiropractic qualify her for appointment to the Hawaii Board of Chiropractic as a public member. Your Committee notes that Ms. Hernandez has worked alongside chiropractors for the past seven years and has been serving as a chiropractic assistant manager at Turning Point Chiropractic since 2018, where she is responsible for supervising and overseeing the day-to-day operations, training staff members, and managing their performance. Ms. Hernandez also plays a key role in coordinating patient care, from scheduling appointments to managing patient flow and ensuring the smooth operations of the chiropractic practice. Your Committee further notes that Ms. Hernandez has a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of board members and her experience and background in a chiropractic practice setting will continue to enhance the effectiveness of the Board. Your Committee therefore recommends that Teresa Hernandez be appointed to the Hawaii Board of Chiropractic based on her experience, background, and her desire to contribute to the community.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection that is attached to this report, your Committee, after full consideration of the background, experience, and qualifications of the nominee, has found the nominee to be qualified for the position to which nominated and recommends that the Senate advise and consent to the nomination.
Respectfully submitted on behalf of the members of the Committee on Commerce and Consumer Protection,
|
