SENATE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

 

 

urging the State to support the transfer of the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission from the Department of Land and Natural Resources to the Office of Planning and Sustainable Development FOR ADMINISTRATIVE PURPOSES.

 

 


     WHEREAS, there is a statewide effort through the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission to enhance resilience to climate change impacts, including sea level rise, coastal erosion, drought, wildfires, and biodiversity loss; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Office of Planning and Sustainable Development, rather than the Department of Land and Natural Resources, is best equipped to effectively administer the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission; now, therefore,

 

     BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2025, the House of Representatives concurring, that this body urges the State to support the transfer of the Hawaii Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission from the Department of Land and Natural Resources to the Office of Planning and Sustainable Development for administrative purposes; and

 

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Governor, Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, and Director of the Office of Planning and Sustainable Development.
