HOUSE RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Boys and Girls Hawaii High School Athletic Association Championship Teams and State Champion Marching Band from Mililani High School, The Trojans.

WHEREAS, high school extracurricular programs enhance student engagement, improve health and academics, and allow students to benefit from positive mentorship, creativity in problem solving, teamwork, and many other skills that help them become responsible adults, productive citizens, and skilled professionals; and

WHEREAS, as with any extracurricular program, participation is about more than wins and losses and it is with great dedication that school faculty inspire, guide, and nurture young students to learn the value of persistence, personal growth, and teamwork; and

WHEREAS, Mililani High School has had an outstanding academic year with countless stories of triumph; and

WHEREAS, Chloe Garcia on the Mililani High School Swimming Team emerged as the 2025 Hawaii High School Athletics Association (HHSAA) State Champion in the 100 Breaststroke and further claimed victories at the 2025 Oahu Interscholastic Association (OIA) Championships in the 200 Individual Medley, 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 100 Breaststroke; and

WHEREAS, Ethan Suyama on the Mililani High School Marching Band showcased his extraordinary skills by helping the band claim victory at the Kapolei Band Festival, Kamehameha Tournament of Bands, and the Mililani Bandfest, achieving a Class AAA Superior rating; and

WHEREAS, Sachi Nacario on the Mililani High School Marching Band showcased her extraordinary skills by helping the band claim victory at the Kapolei Band Festival, Kamehameha Tournament of Bands, and the Mililani Bandfest, achieving a Class AAA Superior rating; and

WHEREAS, members of all Mililani High School extracurricular programs demonstrated outstanding effort and commitment and have learned the value of teamwork in reaching a goal, reflecting the exceptional dedication, perseverance, fellowship, good sportsmanship, and the spirit of keen competitiveness; now, therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2025, that this body hereby congratulates the Boys and Girls Hawaii High School Athletic Association Championship Teams and State Champion Marching Band from Mililani High School, The Trojans, and extends to them its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
