HOUSE CONCURRENT

RESOLUTION

requesting the legislative reference bureau to review all reports required to be submitted to the legislature and make recommendations on which reports should be discontinued.

WHEREAS, reports to the Legislature can provide crucial information and analysis to legislators and better inform them on the initiatives of executive agencies and the Judiciary; and

WHEREAS, certain reporting requirements remain in statute even though the reports may no longer be necessary for various reasons, including that programs on which the reports are focused no longer exist or that there is little to no new information gathered between report submissions; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 23G-5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, the Legislative Reference Bureau is tasked with developing a system to track and monitor the submission of reports to the Legislature by executive agencies and the Judiciary; and

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-third Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2025, the Senate concurring, that the Legislative Reference Bureau is requested to review all reports required to be submitted to the Legislature and make recommendations on which reports should be discontinued; and
