"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE EAST KAUAI IRRIGATION SYSTEM,"

The purpose of this measure is to appropriate funds and establish positions for the Agribusiness Development Corporation to maintain and improve the East Kauai Irrigation System.

Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Department of Land and Natural Resources; Agribusiness Development Corporation; Office of the Mayor of the County of Kauaʻi; Office of Economic Development of the County of Kauaʻi; Larry Jefts Farms, LLC; Hawaii Cattlemen's Council, Inc.; Kalepa Koalition; East Kauai Water Users' Cooperative; Saiva Siddhanta Church; Ulupono Initiative; Hawaiʻi Farm Bureau; Local Food Coalition; Hawaiʻi Farmers Union United; and two individuals. Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands.

As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of S.B. No. 2951, S.D. 1, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
