"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE WORKS OF ART SPECIAL FUND,"
begs leave to report as follows:
Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from CARES. Your Committee received testimony in opposition to this measure from the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts; King Kamehameha Celebration Commission; one member of the Hawaiʻi County Council; Hawaii Arts Alliance; Kauaʻi Museum; East Hawaii Cultural Center; HULI PAC; Maui Dance Council; Kean Arts Inc.; Hawaiʻi Contemporary; Hawaii Craftsmen; Kahilu Theatre Foundation; Kamamo House; Maui Arts & Cultural Center; IATSE 665; and numerous individuals.
Your
Committee has amended this measure by:
(2) Adding two appropriations for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts to support performing arts initiatives and the expansion of arts programming in schools; and
(3) Making technical, nonsubstantive amendments for the purposes of clarity, consistency, and style.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1807, H.D. 1, as amended herein, and recommends that it pass Third Reading in the form attached hereto as H.B. No. 1807, H.D. 2.
