A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to wildlife management.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
Accordingly, the purpose of this Act is to require the auditor to conduct an audit of the department of land and natural resources' aquatic resources division to determine how funds received from the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration program have been expended in the State.
SECTION 2. (a) The auditor shall conduct an audit of the department of land and natural resources' aquatic resources division to determine how funds received from the federal government through the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration program, also known as the Pittman-Robertson Dingell-Johnson/Wallop-Breaux program, have been expended in the State. The audit shall include the recipient and purpose of each expenditure made with funds received from the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program.
(b) The auditor shall submit a report of the auditor's findings and recommendations, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2024.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
