A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to currency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 481B, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§481B-
Forms of payment; cash. (a) All merchants shall accept cash as payment
for goods or services; provided that this section shall not apply to online
purchases or sales made over the Internet.
(b) As used in this section,
"merchant" shall have the same meaning as in section 481B-5.5."
SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
