A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO GEOTHERMAL ENERGY EXPLORATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $6,000,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2024-2025 for geothermal energy exploration in Hawaii and community outreach activities in affected areas; provided that the exploration efforts shall include both surface and subsurface exploration.
The sum appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii technology development corporation for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on January 1, 2060.
