relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE ninth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
1. Aina Haina elementary school
A. Fence surrounding campus for safety.

B. Air conditioning for campus classrooms and staff meeting areas.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2026, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended for the purposes of this Act as follows:
(1) The sums appropriated in items 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 shall be expended by the department of education;
(2) The sum appropriated in item 2 shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources; and
(3) The sum appropriated in item 11 shall be expended by the university of Hawaii.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2024.
