A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to early learning.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 302D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§302D-    Prekinderdergarten-only public charter schools; exemptions. Prekindergarten-only public charter schools shall be exempt from the following sections:

(1) Section 302D-28(a),(c),(e), and (f), relating to funding and finance;

(2) Section 302D-29, relating to the use of the weighted student formula;

(3) Section 302D-31, relating to athletics;

(4) Section 302D-34(c), relating to enrollment;

(5) Section 302D-40, relating to computer science courses and content; and

(6) Section 302D-41, relating to enrollment in industry-credential programs."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
