Rep. Garrett appeared as part of a panel on Insights on PBS Hawaii to discuss latest developments with the Ala Wai Flood Control Project being led by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
While we wait for the draft report to be issued later this summer that will explain how a network of flood walls may protect us in a 25- or 50-year storm, we must not lose sight of the importance of restoring the overall health of the Ala Wai Watershed as part of the solution.

Honolulu Star Advertiser - Large Democratic House Class Shares Progress
Some of Hawaii's freshman state representatives - the largest such group in 28 years - gathered just after the midway point of the legislative session Thursday to highlight their work to improve the state's high cost of living, mental health services and support for small farmers.
The 51-member House this year welcomed 14 Democratic and four Republican freshmen.
