The purpose of this briefing is to receive updates on the status of telehealth services and policies in the State of Hawai‘i, and any recommendations related to the continued implementation of telehealth statutes and policies throughout the State.

The following persons have been invited to participate and provide comments on the following topics:

1. Matthew Koenig, MD, FNCS, Medical Director of Virtual Care, The Queen’s Health Systems,
Associate Professor of Medicine, UH John A. Burns School of Medicine,
“Possible Futures: Virtual Care After the Pandemic”;

2. Christina Higa, PhD, Co-Director, Pacific Basin Telehealth Resource Center (PBTRC),
Associate Faculty Specialist, UH-Mānoa College of Social Sciences,

Adjunct Assistant Professor, Department of Medicine, UH John A. Burns School of Medicine,

“Telehealth Policy Updates”;

3. Sylvia Mann, MS, CGS, Supervisor, Genomics Section, Hawai‘i Department of Health, Co-Director, PBTRC; and Stacey A. Aldrich, Hawai‘i State Librarian,

“Library Telehealth Access & Mobile Clinic Van Projects”; and

4. Burt Lum, State Digital Equity Coordinator, Hawai‘i Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism,

“Hawai‘i’s Digital Equity Plan & Telehealth”
