The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss the public health impacts of the climate crisis in Hawaiʻi: increased vector-borne disease, crop failure and food insecurity, water insecurity, waterborne disease, extreme weather events, air pollution, and the mental health impacts due to these climate stressors. This informational briefing will provide assessments and suggestions to ensure Hawai'i is preparing for this public health crisis.
Presentations will be made by:
· Department of Health State Toxicologist, Dr. Diana Felton; and,
· Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at JABSOM, Dr. Elizabeth Kiefer.
No public testimony will be accepted.
