The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss the findings and recommendations from the Cesspool Conversion Working Group's recent report to the Legislature. The Cesspool Conversion Working Group was created pursuant to Act 132, Session Laws of Hawaiʻi 2018, to develop a long-range, comprehensive plan for the safe, environmentally responsible conversion of all cesspools statewide by 2050.
Presentations will be made by:
· Dr. Roger Babcock, Director of Environmental Services, City and County of Honolulu
· Dr. Cari Ishida, Carollo Engineers
· Dr. Christopher Shuler, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa
· Sina Pruder, Wastewater Branch, Dept. of Health
· Ted Bohlen, Cesspool Conversion Working Group Member
No public testimony will be accepted.
