A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to campaign finance.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
"§11- Large
contributions; report; legislators.
(a) An incumbent candidate
seeking election to the senate or the house of representatives, or the
treasurer of the candidate committee of the incumbent candidate, shall file a
large contribution report using the commission's electronic filing system
within ten days of receiving a contribution of an amount aggregating more than
$500 from any person during a session of the legislature.
(b) The large contribution report shall include
the following information:
(1) Name, address, occupation, and
employer of the contributor;
(2) Name of the incumbent candidate or
candidate committee receiving the contribution;
(3) The amount of the contribution;
(4) The contributor's aggregate
contributions to the incumbent candidate or candidate committee; and
(5) The purpose for which the
contribution will be applied, if any.
(c) A large contribution report filed pursuant to this section shall be in addition to any other report required to be filed by this part."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
