On the topic of Hawaii Tourism Authority contract for U.S. Brand Management and Global Support Services, the Senate Committee on Ways and Means will convene to discuss and hear from the following:

 

Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement and Hawaii Visitors and Conventions Bureau

·         Explain their roles in the first and second RFP process

 

Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA)

·         Provide the timeline of Request for Proposal (RFP) issuance to awarding the contract for the U.S. Brand Management and Global Support Services (Contract)

·         Explain its role in handling of the protest from the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB)

 

HTA Board Representative

·         Explain its role in RFP issuance to awarding the Contract

 

Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT)

·         Provide the timeline and the legal and procurement basis for DBEDT’s handling of the protest from HVCB on the Contract award

·         Explain the legal and procurement basis for the six-month extension of HVCB’s current Contract

 

Department of Attorney General

·         Explain the legal basis for DBEDT’s process to settle the protest

 

State Procurement Office

·         Explain the procurement process for handling a protest
