On February 15, the Committee on Higher Education held an informational briefing to discuss student fees charged to registered students at the University of Hawaii campuses at the time when remote learning was initially implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.  The committee also planned to take up outstanding budgetary matters that were discussed at the WAM-HRE joint budget briefing on January 18, 2022.

However, due to time constraints, the committee was unable to cover all the topics as intended.  Therefore, the purpose of this informational briefing is to take up the remaining matters, including in-person classes, athletics, general counsel contracts, other active contracts, and follow-up on inquiries that were raised by committee members on February 15.

No public testimony will be accepted.

For special assistance: The cable TV broadcast and/or live stream of this meeting will include closed captioning. If you require other auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., interpretive services (oral or written) or ASL interpreter), please contact the committee at HREcommittee@capitol.hawaii.gov at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.

FOR AMENDED NOTICES:  Measures that have been deleted are stricken through and measures that have been added are underscored.  If a measure is both underscored and stricken through, that measure has been deleted from the agenda.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE CALL THE COMMITTEE CLERK AT (808) 587-7200.
