RELATING TO THE DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND TOURISM. Proposed SD1: Includes best practice destination management and regenerative tourism under the scope and responsibilities of the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Requires the Hawaii Tourism Authority to develop a tourism management plan that includes tourism marketing, best practice destination management, and regenerative tourism. Requires Hawaii Tourism Authority to allocate most marketing moneys to the respective county economic development offices for visitor marketing contracts and nonprofits that benefit the county.
