"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO GRADUATE MEDICAL EDUCATION,"

The purpose of this measure
is to appropriate funds
to the John A. Burns School of Medicine to expand medical school and residency
training through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs graduate
medical education programs.
Your
Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the John A. Burns
School of Medicine at the University of Hawai‘i
at Manoa, Healthcare Association of Hawaii, Hawaii Primary Care Association,
Hawai‘i
Psychiatric Medical Association, Hawai‘i
Pacific Health, and The Queen's Health Systems.
Your Committee received comments on this measure from the Department of
Budget and Finance.
As affirmed by the record of votes of the members of your Committee on Finance that is attached to this report, your Committee is in accord with the intent and purpose of H.B. No. 1548, H.D. 1, and recommends that it pass Third Reading.
