A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE thirteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $11,496,500 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the thirteenth senatorial district, as follows:
1. Hale Poai Modernization Project
A. Design services.

A. Plans, construction, and equipment for new bathrooms in D building.

SECTION 2. The appropriations made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriations are made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. The sum appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended for the purposes of this Act as follows:
(1) The sums appropriated in item 1 shall be expended by the Hawaii public housing authority; and
(2) The sums appropriated in items 2 through 9 shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
