A BILL FOR AN ACT

relating to public auctions.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Chapter 141, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§141- Disposition of public lands by public auction; requirements. (a) The disposition of any public lands under the jurisdiction of the board or department by public auction shall be open to the public.

(b) The board or department, as applicable, shall issue a public advertisement in accordance with section 1-28.5 for each public auction to dispose of public lands under the jurisdiction of the board or department."

SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
