A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to the department of agriculture.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $500,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the department of agriculture to control the spread of bovine tuberculosis among livestock and feral ungulates on the island of Molokai.  Funds shall be used for the following:

     (1)  The establishment of one veterinary medical officer II position;

     (2)  The establishment of one livestock inspector II position;

     (3)  The procurement of land for the construction of a portable field office; and

     (4)  The procurement of one new vehicle.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of agriculture for the purposes of this Act.


     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
