A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to jury service.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 612-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended to read as follows:

     "§612-2  Prohibition of discrimination.  A citizen shall not be excluded from jury service in this State on account of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, national origin, economic status, or physical disability, except as provided in section 612-4(b)(1)."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
