A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $3,600,0000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 for athletics at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act; provided that the board of regents shall consider the review of coaching contracts greater than $200,000 and that it be able to determine if there is cause for the termination of the athletic director and head coaches.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $400,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 for athletics at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

The sum appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
