A BILL FOR AN ACT

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR KAISER HIGH SCHOOL.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2022-2023:

1. To be expended by the department of education:

A. Modernize Kaiser High School network infrastructure and unified communications, including replacing wireless access points, installing infrastructure and related equipment to support unified communications, and installing a secondary power backup at the Kaiser High School main distribution facility as well as replacing failed uninterruptible power supply units.

Horizontal Cabling: $500,000

Wireless Network Standardization $100,000

Unified Communications $850,000

Uninterruptible Power Supply Replacements $55,000

Total Funding $1,505,000

B. Plan, design, and build model of an on-campus complex for the visual and performing arts, including a 1,500-seat auditorium, scene shop/STEM/innovation center/robotics, dance studio, film production and broadcast studio, art gallery, and graphic arts room

Total Funding $1,000,000

C. Kaiser Athletics Complex, including swimming pool improvements, erosion control, and various upgrades

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
