A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE Forty-third REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $54,290,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2021-2022 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the forty-third representative district, as follows:
Plans, design, construction, and equipment to create parking lot adjacent to building-B.

Construction $300,000
Equipment $50,000
Total funding $550,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
2. Nanaikapono elementary school
Plans, design, and construction for expanding for Cafe Boys and Girls restroom renovation.

Construction $90,000
Total funding $100,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
3. Nanaikapono elementary school
Plans, design, and construction for four water bottle fill stations: L building corridor (1); and A building administration wing, student support center, and corridor (3).

Total funding $25,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
4. Nanaikapono elementary school
Plans, design, and construction for front and back entrance landscaping.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
5. Nanaikapono elementary school
Plans, design, and construction for new round cafeteria tables to support social and emotional growth.

The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
6. Nānākuli high and elementary school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for the on-campus performing arts center.

Total funding $40,000,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
7. Nānākuli high and elementary school
Plans, design, construction, and equipment for the upgrade of the on-campus baseball field.

Total funding $13,500,000
The sum appropriated for this capital improvement project shall be expended by the department of education.
SECTION 2. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2021.
