Digital Inclusion Week in Hawaii Oct. 4 - 8, 2021

Since my appointment to the State Senate in July 2020, I have become passionate about the issue of digital equity and literacy. During the pandemic, I saw how many of our economically, disadvantaged families have no or little access to broadband networks in their homes. Some of them may not have a computer or know how to use it. Since that time when everything has been going online, I have realized that there's a division being created. I worry that we are creating two classes: The haves and the have nots, when it comes to technology.
