Addressing Data Disaggregation, Self-Determination & Consultation

The purpose of this briefing is to explore the importance of useful and meaningful data practices through racial and ethnic data disaggregation. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown how vital it is to disaggregate data in order to identify whose health, social and economic well-being is most affected, and to develop targeted, culturally informed strategies.

Briefing Speakers:  (Briefing Material)

This briefing will examine data practices and accountability of State agencies, offices and programs. Papa Ola Lōkahi and Hawai‘i Budget & Policy Center will present findings on several state agencies’ performance in collecting and utilizing data to efficiently and effectively reach priority populations. Their presentation will provide solutions driven by the Native Hawaiian community to improve the state’s data policies and practices.

No public testimony will be accepted.

The cable TV broadcast and/or live stream of this meeting will include closed captioning. If you require other auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., interpretive services (oral or written) or ASL interpreter), please contact the committee clerk at least 24 hours prior to the hearing so that arrangements can be made.
