     Your Committee on Ways and Means, to which was referred H.B. No. 185, H.D. 1, S.D. 1, entitled:

 

"A BILL FOR AN ACT RELATING TO THE JUDICIARY,"

 

begs leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose and intent of this measure is to appropriate funds for the Judiciary for the fiscal biennium beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2023.

 

     Your Committee received testimony in support of this measure from the Judiciary; Office of the Public Defender; Hawaii State Bar Association; Kauai Bar Association; Hawaii County Bar Association; Family Law Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association; Appellate Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association; Environment, Energy, and Resources Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association; McKeon Sheldon Mehling, LLLC; and two individuals.

 

     Your Committee finds that the appropriations made by this measure are intended to assist the Judiciary in its efforts to fulfill its constitutional and statutory duties for the 2021-2023 fiscal biennium.

 

     Your Committee further finds that the Judiciary requested a capital improvement budget that totaled:
