RELATING TO POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION. Requires the University of Hawaii to collaborate with the Department of Education and the Department of Business, Economic Development, and Tourism to utilize interactive web tools to collaborate among a diverse array of stakeholders enabling degree-seeking individuals to make better-informed decisions regarding their post-secondary education and career choices. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD2)

RELATING TO SCHOOLS. Establishes a Workforce Readiness Program within the Department of Education to allow students to graduate from an extended high school enrollment with an industry-recognized associate's degree to complement the student's high school diploma. Appropriates moneys to develop and implement the program, including (2.0) FTE Educational Specialist II staff positions and (7.0) FTE District Office Teachers. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO SCHOOLS. Establishes a workforce readiness diploma program within the Department of Education's Community School for Adults program. Appropriates funds. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO EDUCATION. Establishes criteria for industry certification awards to public high schools and appropriates funds to the Department of Education to incentivize public high schools to encourage students to obtain industry-recognized certifications. Requires the Department to submit an annual report containing specified information about the progress of the incentivization. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)

RELATING TO ON-SITE EARLY CHILDHOOD FACILITIES. Establishes an income tax credit for employers who create on‑site early childhood facilities. Establishes and appropriates funds for 1.0 FTE on-site early childhood facility coordinator position. Effective 7/1/2050. Applies to taxable years beginning after 12/31/2020. (SD2)

RELATING TO TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII. Provide a three-year extension of the sunset provision in Act 38, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017. Takes effect 6/18/2050. (SD2)

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW
Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony should indicate:
· Testifier's name with position/title and organization;
· The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;
· The date and time of the hearing; and

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website. This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
