Adds the University of Hawaii to the list of agencies that are authorized to conduct criminal history record checks on current or prospective employees, including student employees and contractors and their employees, whose positions or duties are related to public safety.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Repeals the sunset provision in Act 39, Session Laws of Hawaii 2017.

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Allows the usage of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits by means of electronic benefits transfer cards in all cafeterias in four-year university and community college campuses in the University of Hawaii system.

SB 3032

      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROMISE PROGRAM.

Converts the University of Hawaii Community College Promise Program from a scholarship to a loan program.  Makes these loans forgivable if the recipient works in Hawaii for five years after graduation from college.  Authorizes the Board of Regents to establish rules regarding the program.
