Status

RELATING TO THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE.

Limits DOH commitment to 180-days for those defendants charged with a non-violent class C felony and found to be unfit to proceed under chapter 704, HRS.  Limits to 180-days the period of conditional release granted to defendants charged with a non-violent class C felony.

RELATING TO THE DONATION OF FOOD.

Requires the Department of Health to promote food donation during normal, routine inspections of food establishments.  Permits the donation of food.  Expands liability protection for the donation of food.  Authorizes the donation of food directly to the needy and expired food under certain circumstances.

RELATING TO PHARMACY BENEFIT MANAGERS.

Ensures the community health system remains financially viable in the face of healthcare value transformation; ensures access to quality and affordable prescription drugs by vulnerable populations served by community health centers, special needs clinics and other nonprofit healthcare entities covered by the federal 340B pharmacy program.

Status

RELATING TO HOSPICE.

Requires that hospice care shall only be provided by a licensed hospice care facility, care home, or foster home.  Requires that a guardian of a person in a hospice home shall have the legal responsibility to advocate for the person until end of the person's life.

Status

RELATING TO MEDICAL AUTONOMY.

Authorizes conscientious beliefs as a basis for exemption from vaccination requirements.  Requires that the first option for quarantine of an individual be quarantined inside that individual's residence.

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·    Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·    The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·    The date and time of the hearing; and

·    Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

FAX:     For testimony less than 5 pages in length, transmit to 808-586-6311 (Oahu) or 1-800-535-3859 (for Neighbor Islander without a computer to submit testimony through e-mail or the Web); or

WEB:    For testimony less than 20MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
